Workways Holds Annual Staff Reward & Recognition Event

At Workways, our commitment to our people is at the core of everything we do. As part of our “People First” strategy, we are continuously striving to create an environment where our staff feel valued, appreciated, and motivated. Our annual initiative, “Ways2: Give Back,” was this year, held in the picturesque setting of Burleigh Heads, Queensland, and is designed to celebrate the hard work of our extraordinary team members.

Putting Our People First

At Workways, we understand that our success is inseparably linked to the dedication and efforts of our staff. We firmly believe that by putting our people first, we can build a thriving and motivated workforce, leading to the achievement of our organisational goals and continued growth.

“Ways2: Give Back” – A Celebration of Dedication

Day 1: An Exclusive Wildlife Encounter

The event kicked off with a visit David Fleay’s Wildlife Park, a haven for unwell and endangered native wildlife. We enjoyed an exclusive tour of the park, featuring a close look at a Platypus enclosure, active Koalas, and an unexpected encounter with Madonna the Crocodile. It was a remarkable experience, thank you to the team at David Fleay’s for the tour.

Day 2: A Day of Giving Back

Day two was dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment. Our staff began their day with a beach walk, preparing them for a rewarding Planting Day in Currumbin Valley, alongside the Envite and Boardriders crew. Despite the sweltering sun, our team managed to plant over 500 trees and plants, contributing to the conservation of this stunning region. This day of service was not only an opportunity to give back but also a chance to strengthen our team spirit.

Welcome to Country

One of the most touching moments of the event came during the smoking ceremony and Welcome to Country performed by Kombumerri and Quandamooka woman, Justine Dillon, reminding us of the rich indigenous heritage of the land. This experience highlighted our commitment to fostering a deep respect for local communities and their traditions.

Day 3: A Gentle Conclusion

Our team enjoyed a leisurely morning with beach walks, coffee, and a delightful breakfast, offering a serene backdrop for reflection and relaxation before heading back home.

Workways: An Employer of Choice

The “Ways2: Give Back” event exemplifies Workways’ commitment to being an employer of choice.

As an organization, we understand that our staff’s contributions are the driving force behind our achievements. We aim to remain at the forefront of recognising and appreciating their exceptional efforts. Our “Ways2: Give Back” initiative is just one example of how we plan to continue putting our people first, making Workways a place where staff feel valued and proud to be a part of our organisation.
