New CEO for Workways Australia Ltd

Leading national employment services provider, Workways Australia, has announced the appointment of a new chief executive officer, Kieren Kearney who will commence in early November 2019.

Kieren brings to the role extensive executive experience in the employment services industry. He was formerly General Manager of Operations for Salvation Army Employment Plus, a not-for-profit business that services 40,000 jobseekers Australia wide.

Workways Chair, Thelma Hutchison said the Board was pleased to welcome Kieren to the organisation. “We undertook a rigorous recruitment process and had a number of high calibre, experienced applicants from which to choose”.

“We are confident that Kieren will position Workways for long term financial stability and strategic growth, so we can continue to provide important services to the communities in which we serve.  His strategic outlook and strong focus on customer service align with Workways’ values.”

Ms Hutchison acknowledged the important work of outgoing CEO, Bryan McCormick in growing and diversifying the business. “Under Bryan’s leadership, the Workways’ business has grown from a $16M business servicing Victoria and southern NSW, to a $32M business with 52 offices across the east coast of Australia”.

“Bryan oversaw the integration of three businesses into Workways, including the environmental services division, Envite which operates the Gippsland Drought Employment program and a number of Skilling Queensland for Work projects”.

“We thank Bryan for his six and a half years of commitment and leadership of Workways, and wish him all the best as he departs to pursue other opportunities.” added Ms Hutchison.

In the initial phase of his appointment, Mr Kearney will be focused on meeting staff in Workways sites across eastern Australia, including the head office in Bairnsdale and various offices in Gippsland.
