I was working in the AOD field(Drugs & Alcohol), I had been there for 3 years doing referrals, and assistance with family members of drug/alcohol affected people

I wanted to be able to work in with these same families and show them that they can make changes in their own lives for the better, to walk into a shopping centre and see someone who didn’t think they could be there, or drive past a road construction crew and see a former client of mine when I was in AOD

It’s given me a different view on how to approach life, where I was before this job to where I’m now is proof enough that there is always a better life, I mean I see some people on weekends who say “thanks” just because I was able to help them, it’s a natural high.
