Back to Great Teams
Previously I worked within the Aboriginal Health Industry and also in the Primary School sector of education. Both of these career paths gave me extensive experiences in working with young people, parents, community members and supporting disability clients. My education background covers areas such as Music teaching, disability supports, The Arts, HR, Administration & Financial Management, Indigenous services Management and various training in Youth Support and Mental Health.
Within my other roles I had worked with employees of Workways (Placement Officers) when we required additional staff. The way the staff projected the company, their joy expressed about their roles and the professionalism of staff and company was a draw card to me and I felt I wanted to be a part of that.
My position when I commenced with Workways was assisting newly unemployed clients as a Training & Placement officer based at the Lakes Entrance site. I greatly enjoyed my position and as my knowledge grew of the company and the different services I embraced a role change when a position as a Career and Transition Co-ordinator became available. This was a program assisting youth identify their goals and interest to link with career paths and make education work for them. From there I became Program Manager to Youth Service which meant looking after the Jobs Pathway Program which turned then into the Youth Pathways Service looking after Youth at Risk aged 13 – 19yrs.
With my experience within the Aboriginal Health Industry, my role grew once more to incorporate the Indigenous Service and VET team that are all currently under my Management. Over four years employment to date with Workways I have never looked back and have a passion and commitment to my role that enables me to take pride in my programs and accomplishment shared by not only myself but the great team of people I have working within my services.
